If you take a walk around you will find many stalls selling food and drinks. For me personally most of my favourite stalls are located near the front where they are facing Chinatown. One of them would be Seng Lee. Seng Lee is a stall that basically sells drink or cold desserts, Local desserts that is. Their ABC, Ang Tao Peng etc are one of the best in Kuching, If not the best.

A Taste of Working 2 Different Jobs
Soon I decided to try something, well... you can the greed for more cash made me do this. I decided to keep my work at the Junk restaurant and at the same time doing my tutoring job. I end up working at Junk on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday would be my tutoring days.
So far I felt quite comfortable doing these 2 jobs at the same time. Even though they are totally different jobs, I have learned to blend into it quite comfortably. But I must admit that at times I do feel tired and sometimes discouraged to go work but overall I am happy that I am doing 2 jobs.

Stuck with Decisions
Well I have, ashamed to say this, I have failed every single subject that I have taken for last semester and it was just horrible. Now I am facing exclusion from my Uni... and my mum is worried sicked about my studies. All of you must be thinking hard there, how in the world can this guy fail all his subjects? Simple question Simple answer... I was not well prepared for my finals. I was half playing half studying.
But now I have learned my lesson and I know my mistake so I will and I must change my old ways! (well easier said than done) but I swear I will do and try my best.
Now my family is asking me to reconsider taking up accounting, they are afraid that I can't take it. Well I can take up accounting why can't I? If other people can do it, I can do it too right? furthermore I believe I have done pretty good in my bookkeeping in Diploma. One of the main reasons that I am being asked to reconsider is because in the first place accounting was not a course that I actually opted for, put it this way I was kind of being forced to take it.
But after getting a taste of accounting I kind of like it... weird huh? Well one reason why I liked it is because by studying accounting I have a wider choice of career which I want to take up when I graduate. One of the choice that is available for me would be working in an Airline Company.
For years I have been an aviation enthusiast... I love to go to airport to do aircraft spotting during my free time. I basically read aviation magazines mainly on aviation business. One of my role model is Mr. Tony Fernandes the owner of Malaysia's mega Low Cost Carrier, Air Asia. From my understanding Mr. Fernandes is some what like me and aviation enthusiast but graduated as an accountant and worked for Warner music. One day he decided to shift his career from working and managing warner music to managing and owning his very own airline. Until today he is very successful, under his hands Air Asia has flourish.
In 2004 Air Asia placed an order for up to 80 Airbus A320 aircrafts (pictured), which in late 2006 the number of order was increased to a 100 aircrafts. At first, I was stuck with a lot of decisions whether am I suppose to continue on with accounting, it was a tough decision that I had to ponder for a few days. But finally after getting some advice from a very good lecturer of mine, whom I will still see again this semester has certainly made decision making a lot easier.
Can you guess what is my final decision? ;-)
Well if you have guessed that I am still continuing as an accounting student than you are most certainly 100% correct!! I decided to pursue my career as an accountant! thanks to Mr. Fernandes and my Lecturer.

Mysterious Vanishing of RM 10
Thursday, 11 January 2007. This day didn't end well for me. It ended like hell! My friends ask me to join a gathering, the very first venue was at a coffee shop near the 3rd mile Mc Donalds. But due to a sudden heavy downpour one of my friend decided not to join us, thus, the venue was changed last minute to this "Fusion" restaurant not far from 3rd Mile called The Colours.
Well I arrive there around 10pm found my friends and sat down and looked at the menu, first of I decided to order some nice fruit drink cause the name looks soo nice so I wanted to try it, so I placed my order but to find out that all the fruit juices and drinks are not available... never mind than, I scanned through the menu again to look for some other tempting drinks only to find that the menu is really over-priced.... guess what a can of coke cost RM3.80!!! Might as well I go and buy it from the supermarket or Kopi tiam (Coffee shop in Hokkien) ... in a supermarket I can get it for like RM1.05 and coffee shop like RM 1.60 which is considered quite expensive.
Well I\in the end i settled for an Italian Soda... which was not very cheap either,,, but no choice... better than nothing aye...not forgetting something the waitresses there have some major problem in standing still, the waitress that took our order was shaking her hips and legs and was hitting me and man was I getting annoyed, if it was a hot chick doing that I don't mind but it was a fuggly beotch (sorry ok not beotch...coz I was not that fond of her ok but she was fuggly).
Well my friends were hungry so they ordered some food namely chicken chop and lamb chop or something. The food was disappointing though.... I tasted it after my friend said it was tasteless... well it was practically tasteless!! Junk's menu maybe expensive but the food I get is not this crap!
But the highlight of the night was... Well when we were ready to go and was paying for out food and drinks. Something weird happened we ask the cashier to separate the bill cause some of our friends are still chatting there... first she said can we pay all at once for it is a tedious job to seperate the bill.... wtf.... this type of cashier can go to hell. Never mind so in the end the bill was separated so we paid... half way through the process another annoying waitress (beotch) just squeezed in between my friend and I without saying "EXCUSE ME"... this was how rude the waitresses are there. Suddenly after what seems like 2 minutes I noticed my RM10 was gone. So I kindly asked the Cashier.
ME: Excuse me, I am sorry but how much did I give you just now?
Cashier (beotch): I don't know. (She was still holding a wad of cash in her right hand)
ME: Can you please check for me I think I gave you extra.
Cashier (beotch): I don't know I already mixed the money in the cashier ( still holding a was of cash in her hands)
ME: Can you please check?
Cashier (beotch) : Sorry I can't the only way I would know is when I close the cashier
And after a long argument a guy (which I presumed was the manager) said when they close their cashier at 3 am they would let me know... but in the end they didn't. Some more the cashier never returned my change.
The following day I went back... and the whole place was filled with unfamiliar faces... so I told them then they called the boss and I talked to the boss yada yada.... and fuck him he said "My employees won't dare to cheat" but again I insisted on checking again. ( The boss didn't know what happened)... then a few hours later he called and told me that there was no extra money in the cash register... I just said ok sorry to bother. But in my heart I was saying....
"You fucking asshole, wait until close cashier for sure she can just sneak that RM10 out and said there is no extra... duh!!!!!" oh well... that teaches me a lesson always check the amount of money that I am paying before I pay to the cashier.
and furthermore.. I swore that I will never ever step into the colours again.... since the change of management... I think the service sucks.... and food wasn't that great and Overpriced!!

Kolo Mee!!!
Say I am greedy a glutton, whatever but I just can't help it, from young I am a Kolo Mee lover. To tell you this Kuching's Kolo Mee is the best!!! and some places in Kuching serves excellent mouth watering Kolo mee.
So far a few places serves delicious kolo mee, for one is sekama and another behind star cineplex and Tabuan Jaya's Ah Ping Kolo Mee.
Basically this is how kolo mee is made, first the noodle is being cooked inside boiling water, get ready a bowl, inside the bowl add in fried onions, white vinegar, pork oil, Ajinamoto/salt. The noodle is then dip into cold water and back into the boiling water for a minute or so and then into the bowl with the ingredients inside mix it properly. Than add tasty Barbecued pork and sprinkle some white pepper powder and also minced pork meat and finally sprinkle some spring onions on top and Voila a bowl of Kolo mee.
But I was too lazy to do it on my own, plus I don't know if the one I cook is edible or not, so better not risked my stomach getting pump =P... so instead I went to Sekama and bought a nice packet of kolo mee.

One and A half year of part time teaching
Since last year I have taken up part-time teaching job. from then onwards I have been teaching until today.. or should I say last month when the tuition centre is closed down for the holidays. I have worked for 3 tuition centre...currently teaching in two of them.
For this 1 1/2 years of teaching I've seen many type of students. I have met students who are smart but just doesn't want to study...lazy yet act smart students and really slow learning students. All the teaching that I've done had taught me to be a more patient person.
Come to think of it teaching has its pros and cons. So far the pros of teaching is that when your students achieved good results it makes you feel happy that you have helped them in achieving the results. Besides that, when you are having a really bad day, your students will surely brighten up your day.
My adorable Primary 6 Students at Top Students Tuition Centre. They are a bunch of smart kids and I am very very proud of them.I believe after one month I;ll be seeing him again on January 2007, when the new school terms starts.
One thing that I never like about teaching in the tuition centre that I am currently working for right now is that they do not pay the employees on time. I still remember that, in this year we only got our January pay on February 16th. I believe all the teachers were very angry with the management, yet they gave us some really lame excuses, like oh sorry because of some superstition that they should not pay us before Chinese New year or within Chinese New Year, well the actual Chinese Superstition is that, all owing debts must be paid before the Chinese Lunar New Year in order to prosper in that following year, but they have done it the other way round.
I am still waiting for my pay for October from both of my tuition centre. Unril today neither of them rang up. Hopefully they will ring me up sooner. I need my pay to reload my prepaid phone and I need to get my specs fixed.

First Day working @ The Junk Restaurant
The Junk is one of the best restaurant in Kuching,... or so I can say it that way.... the interior of the restaurant is uniquely design with beautiful antiques. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cool and calm... and very romantic too. The food they serve there is superb so I highly recommend you to try The Junk out when you are in Kuching.
Today is my first day working at The Junk... and this is also the first time I enter into the food industry. Working there as a part time waiter is cool... All of my colleagues are fun and friendly...well almost all of them. The owner of the shop is a Lady... she is very nice too...she is lovely when she smiles but when she is not smiling it seems like she is going to pounce on you at any moment... pretty scary... but no worries I believe she is no such person. (*I Hope)
A lot of people goes to The Junk..... Tonight was quite a busy night and serving the customers are just lovely. Some of them are really nice and pleasant. But Maybe I was to nervous the first time I served the customers my hand was shivering.... and I had to remember the dishes... ughss I still have other things to remember like my studies.... I do hope I am not overworking my poor brain.
Overall working at The Junk is a very pleasant experience... friendly colleagues good pay... I don't mind going back to work there by the end of next year... that is if I am still in Kuching.... I hope not... cause if I am still here it might mean that I failed some of my subjects.... and I don't want that to happened.
Well... I better scoot off to bed now... very tired but happy...tomorrow I still have to go to work again... cheers to me and y'all out there.
P/s: I am happy the some of my friends are concern about me... they kept asking me how am I coping... Am I ok... Thanks to Ping and Hui Bun for your concern... I am truly grateful to have friends like both of you.. bless you guys in your upcoming exams... May you pass with flying colours.... love you guys!!! Gambateh!!!

Unethical People!!!
Some people arrghhs!! are really brainless selfish asses.... sorry I can't help it. Well let me tell a story why I am so tulan. Today while I was attending my class half way... which was already 5 something in the afternoon... I had to visit the toilet real bad.
I had to run down to the second floor toilet because in Swinburne the 3rd floor toilet are reserved for staff only...so choices are either I use the washroom on the 2nd floor or 4th floor. well soi soi(unlucky in Hokkien) I opt for the 2nd floor toilet... the other cubicle was occupied so I had no choice to use the other one that is vacant. Once I'm in there... I was like WHAT THE FUCK!!! The toilet bowl was so dirty there were cigarette ashes all over the place and on the toilet bowl.... the whole cubicle was so smelly again!! Cigarette butts were thrown inside the toilet bowl too... No wonder there were so many blockage in Swinburne's toilet... must have been these asses who are destroying it!!
CB ppl.... I mean come on for goodness sake your not suppose to smoke inside the Building...If you want to smoke go outside...DUH!! do you have to be so Damn bloody inconsiderate. Ok if you want to smoke there it is fine but don't dirty the toilet bowl la... fucking shit really pissed me off!! I hope one fine day they will get caught and get punished by the authority.......Bloody eejits!!
Lets Learn a bit of Hokkein :
a brief intro about Hokkein... Hokkien is one of the many chinese dialects. It is similar to that of "Tai Yu" of Taiwan. Hokkien is a dialect that is mostly by the Chinese communities in Kuching. Some of the natives here also know how to speak this language... that is if they hang out a lot with the Chinese Friends. The Majority of Chinese living in Kuching understands and speaks Hokkien. Hokkien is also used in West Malaysia and Singapore.
Hokkien ------->English
Lu Ho Bo -----------> How are you?
Jiak Pheng -----------> Dinner time/Eating time
Jiak ---------------> Eat
Lok Ceh Lui -------------> How much?
Gam Sia --------------> Thank you
Wa Seng Kia --------------> I'm going off now
If your under the age of 18 DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER... Above 18 please proceed.
Foul words of Hokkien
Hokkien ------> English
Tulan ----------> literally means Pissed off
Cibai -----------> literally means women's private part
Lanciao ---------->l iterally means man's private part
Cibai Kia ----------> well it means you fucking bastard
Cao Chabo ----------->You SLUT!!/ You filthy bitch!!
Cao Tapo -------------> You fucking asshole/bastard
hehehe But don't use these words above and simply scold people in Kuching...you might be asking for trouble.... hehehe

All Souls Day
Tomorrow will be All Souls Day, it is a wonder how time passes by so fast. My grandparents have passed away for years now. I miss them a lot. Whenever I hear my friends visiting their grandparents, I will think of my granparents too.I believe they are enjoying themselves up in heaven. I pray to the Lord that he will watch over them in heaven and also my family and I.
I want to visit them, but alas, tomorrow I have class so I can't make it. Maybe I'll go up there sometime later.

The wonderful God
She jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the
operating room.
She said: "How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right?
When can I see him?"
The surgeon said, "I'm sorry. We did all we could, but your
boy didn't make it."
Sally said, "Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God
care any more? Where were you,
God, when my son needed you?"
The surgeon asked, "Would you like some time alone with your
son? One of the nurses will be out
in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university."
Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good-bye
to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair.
"Would you like a lock of his hair?" the nurse asked.
Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put
it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally.
The mother said, "It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to
the University for Study. He said it might help somebody else.
"I said no at first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom,
"I won't be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other
little boy spend one more day with his Mom."
She went on, "My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of
someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could."
Sally walked out of Children's mercy Hospital for the last
time, after spending most of the last six months there.
She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on theseat beside her in the car.
The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house.
She carried Jimmy's belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his
hair to her son'sroom. She started placing the model carsand other personal things
back in his room exactly where he had always kept them.
She laid downacross his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to
sleep.
It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Laying beside her on
the bed was a folded letter.
The letter said:
"Dear Mom, I know you're going to miss me; but don't think
that I will ever forget you, or stop lovingyou, just 'cause I'm not around
to say I LOVE YOU I will.always love you, Mom, even more with each day.
Someday we will see each other again. Until then, if you want
to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me.
He can have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a
girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do.
You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff
girls like, you know.
Don't be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place.
Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me
around some, but it will take a long time to see everything.
The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly.
And, you know what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his
pictures. Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him.
Jesus himself took me to see GOD! And guess what, Mom? I got
to sit on God's knee and talk to Him, like
I was somebody important. That's when I told Him that I wanted
to write you a letter, to tell you good-bye and everything.
But I already knew that wasn't allowed. Well, you know what Mom?
God handed me some paper and His own personal pen
to write you this letter. I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who
is going to drop this letter off to you.
God said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions
you asked Him 'Where was He when I needed him?' "God said
He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on
the cross. He was right there,as He always is with all His children.
Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written
except you. To everyone else this is just a blankpiece of paper. Isn't that cool?
I have to give God His pen back now. He needs it to write some more
names in the Book of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper.
I'm, sure the food will be great.
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore. The
cancer is all gone. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and God
couldn't stand to see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent The Angel of
Mercy to come get me. The Angel said I was a Special Delivery! How about that?
Signed with Love from God, Jesus & Me.
"When you're down to nothing, God is up to something."
