10th Bible Conference

..............................................................................................................................................................................
Short Talk:
Final Examinations are coming up on 19th of November and I am pretty stressed out. No more procrastinating. Its time to get serious and do some serious revision.
..............................................................................................................................................................................

From 26-28th of October which is from Friday to Sunday, I have attended the 10th Bible Conference. The title for this conference is Our God Speaks. To tell the truth I have never attended any Christian conferences or any other such conferences in my entire 20 years of living in this world and I this conference did leave down a good impression in me.

We had a special speaker for this conference. He flew half-way around the world just to preach and prophesies us. It is none other than Rev Kirk Duncan, from Canada. This man is 71 years old and trust me he is so energetic he looks more like a 40 plus man rather than a man of 71! its the truth! you should have seen him up there.

I am a camera shy person.... Shawn I am not "tiao keh" ok... I am the humblest amongst the humbles

From the very first day, when I heard him teach in my heart I thought he is a great speaker and teacher and true man of God. Yes, I won't deny he is good and I had learnt something from his teachings. Part of me has indeed been inspired by him and his teachings.

His lessons are never boring, just like Pastor Dennis preachings. There is always a pinch of humour which keeps us awake and paying full attention.

But sadly, I was not able to attend the whole full conference. First, was due to my work and second because Jade's grandmother passed away and I just had to go and see if she is doing okay. I won't deny that I quite enjoyed the Bible Conference. Translation by the translators are pretty good. But I was not in any need for any translation as I can understand English pretty well.

Now that the Bible Conference is over, do I feel refreshed or rejuvenated? I am not very sure but I guess part of me is being rejuvenated and that is no lie.

Next stop is the Malaysian National Convention, which will be held in Kuching also. I am not very sure if I want to go or not. But if I am on duty I guess I have no choice but to go. Other than that, I don't think I will be going. Financially, I am very tight. And if anyone of you out there are going to critique about my financial position. I have two words for you SHUT UP! Why? because you are not in my shoes so you do not know what a hellish life I am going through now. Some more my mood has been further dampen by someone who just reminded me of all the things I have to pay next month once I got my salary.

A little to exposed

..............................................................................................................................................................................
Short Talk:
Finally I finished and handed in my Quickbooks assignment. I am free....free from quickbooks! Yes... now all I have to do now is work harder and pass FIS and all my subjects!

..............................................................................................................................................................................

Have you ever woke up in the morning and you just know that it is one of those days? Or when you wake up everything is just fine and as the days proceed things started to go so wrong. Well as for me, I would say it is one of those days for me. I started the day quite normally and nothing seems to be wrong.

Once I reached the Uni things started to get a bit rough just a wee bit, nothing serious yet. First, I had to park my car at the Kenyalang parking lot and take the shuttle service back to the uni. Because it was a van and the door was quite low, when I was exiting the van, I hit my head "boobed!" in front of the many girls that were in the van too ( I was the only male occupant in the van besides the driver =.=), the only consolation I had was...well... they felt my pain too. I just hope they won't laugh and giggle behind me and start to gossip behind me... "eh, look at the klutz, don't even know how to exit a van. What a loser! *giggles*"

When I went into the library and met up with my friend, he started to tell me about my quickbooks assignment that we missed out something while doing the Balance Day Adjustment. I had to do some minor corrections and reprint and re-burn the the files into the CD again. But that wasn't so bad.

The highlight of the day was after when I finished my law class. I went back to the library again. Met up with friends and help them out a little with their Quickbooks assignment. Earlier on I had asked my other friend who parked his car at Kenyalang also to sms me when he is done and wants to go to take his car. He did sms me, and said the van had arrived. So I quickly cleared up my stuff and ran down holding my books ( I didn't even keep the books and file into my backpack and just rushed down to catch the van). I went out and looked to the left and looked to the right. The van was no where in sight and looked for my friend and he was nowhere> I was really puzzled then. So I smsed him... he didn't reply. I sat down and kept my books. YES! I look so PATHETIC! Suddenly after sometime I received a message from my friend

"The bus driver knot wait o, he said 4.30 another round"
"He drive away already."

Inside my heart... "&@*&&#@$*@#&*... wait a while also cannot, damn fucking cibai make me run like a maniac and made me looked so pathetic, Kanine ar"

So I went back to the first floor to grab some water to cool down myself. Sure enough around 4.30 the bus came back. I doubled checked with the bus driver to see whether is the bus going back to Kenyalang. Yes it was, this trip there was a lot of people, so I decided to take the "first class seat" So I climbed up the van and there was an unwelcoming sound that greeted me while I was half way climbing...."Ripped!!" Oh dear what is that, I looked down and saw that my pants has torn apart! "WHAT THE FUCK!" I quickly grab my FIS textbook and covered it and hoped that no one saw it, especially the group of girls sitting behind me. The hole was huge I tell you and it went all the way up to my hip and when I sat down the hole opens even bigger and it revealed my "sexy hip" to the world including my "ahemz". I tell you I would have turned really red if someone saw me.

Very Sexy

My mind was racing how will I get out of the van later? Crap.... shit.... cibai why...why of all days and of all time now! I have really down right gorgeous sexy hips. I was afraid that by revealing I will be the envy to all the people sitting in the bus

Well as soon as we arrived at the Car Park, I hurried down the bus limping a bit because I was trying to cover the hole. I wonder anyone noticed my strange behaviour. But I must admit it was quite cooling with that big hole, there is a lot of air circulation inside my pants. LOL...

Well the good news it I got home without anyone noticing my beautiful hip. While I was driving I put up the sun shades to prevent the other drivers from ogling over my wonderful hip. *winks*

Hari Raya Delights!

.............................................................................................................................................................................
Short Talk:
FUCK! I am so broke and its only middle of the month! Shit! No more going out...maybe not even staying back for WFL any more...its BUDGET TIME!

............................................................................................................................................................................

The one thing I look forward to Hari Raya is that I can meet my Malay friends. We have been separated since our Diploma graduation and some of them are working. I sure miss them. My Malay friends are always warm and sincere towards us. They never fail to invite us to visit them during Hari Raya. Even now, when we are apart and not studying together we are still being invited to their house for raya. Now, that is true sincerity and friendship. I truly respect them.

Another thing that I look forward to is the food and cakes! Oh I tell you guys, some of my friends serve wicked food. I usually look forward to eating masak merah, rendang, lemang, ketupat, pulut, curry and many more. The cakes and cookies, I need not say more about them for right now as I am doing this post and recollecting back what I have eaten there is making me drool like a bull dog!

The cakes were good too!

The first house I visited was Zeti's house. Her house was the first house we visited and the only house we visited this raya because some of our other friends are not in Kuching for this Raya. As usual Zeti's mother cooks some really wicked food. The cakes are great too. I ate so much curry, lemang, pulut and of course masak merah that I felt bloated but surprisingly, I was greedy enough to continue on with the cakes and cookies after that glorifying meal.

Look at all those food!

My first round XD

After the satisfying lunch at Zeti's house I was back home sleeping! Yes I was such a pig! I know! But I went jogging with Morgan and Shawn that evening. Well "Jogging"....

Then I had this lil dude for dinner...YUMZ! ok....ok... joking this prawn is still living happily in its aquarium in Kuching International Airport. LOL

Home Cooking - Sour vege

.......................................................................................................................................................................
Short Talk:

Wishing all those who are celebrating Hari Raya, A Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir Batin. It is also a time for me to enjoy masak merah, curry, beef rendang, pulut *droolz*. I can't wait to get my hands on them all! Not forgetting to see my Malay friends. I haven't seen them for a long time!
......................................................................................................................................................................

Sometimes it is good to do some home cooking. It is much healthier and cheaper to do so too. Actually I always thought that home cooking is fun and in a way educational. When your dish comes out right and its good, it gives you satisfaction.

I am going to introduce a simply dish which I liked a lot. Preparation is not hard. It is called errr.... Stir fried Sour Veg.

Basically these will be the things that you will need;
  • Sour vege (2-3 stalks)
  • Ginger (shredded)
  • Chillies (Chopped)
  • Pork
  • 2 table spoon of cooking oil
  • wok or frying pan
First of all, shred the sour veg into thin strips around 0.5cm. Next, cut the pork into pieces as shown in the picture.

Cut the pork

After that, take a small piece of ginger and then shred it into thin slices, followed by the chillies. Basically you have a choice to add in the chillies or not to. For me the reason why I add in the chillies and ginger because the ginger adds in the flavour and as for the chillies it gives a little spice and thus, the dish will have a sourish and spicy taste to it and it really perks up your appetite.

Next, when all of your ingredients are done, boil a pot of water and then put in the pork for 5 minutes then heat up the cooking oil in a pan, put in the ginger first, fry until fragrant and add in chilli, stir. Add in the shredded sour veg into and stir fry again for a few minutes, while the veg is being cooked drain the pork and then add it into the sour veg and stir fry for another few minutes.

BON APETITE!

Finally, EAT IT! haha... actually it goes very well with rice so you should try it out!

Last month, most of the Chinese celebrated the Mooncake Festival or Mid-Autumn Festival. Usually by this time of the month the Kuching city council will host the Inter-cultural Mooncake Festival. Basically people from different cultures will come together and celebrate this wonderful festival. This Inter-Cultural Mooncake Festival is usually held at Carpenter Street. There will be rows and rows of stalls selling mainly food and lanterns and along the way you can see performances of people singing, dancing, and some weird stuff.

This year I wasn't planning to go to the Inter-cultural Mooncake Festival, well I just don't fancy squeezing my way through with a bunch of people. Who knows I might get molested in the process and not know who was it. LOL...joking. But since that night, Chai Hia asked us old buddies to have dinner together at Bla Bla Bla. We took the opportunity to visit the Festival, well the main reason was... the street was badly congested and we decided to go home a little later when the traffic clears.

Doraemon Latern... who wants it?

gotta love those lanterns

I must say this year I saw a really not make it a few weird stall selling WEIRD stuffs. I saw there are a few stalls actually selling "Buang Tahi Lalat" , translate it for you in English would be " Away freckles!" ha ha. They actually have these stalls there and I can tell you nobody and absolutely nobody paid any attention to it. I mean for heaven's sake who would go and let some road side stall get rid of your freckles and they claim to be international too! wtf! For me I am definitely not letting them touch me. I might be vain but I am not that vain or stupid.

The lady playing a Gu Zheng[古针]( A traditional Chinese Music Instrument)

Other that all things seem normal until I reach this part where a group of old Malay ladies sat down playing drums and singing... I dunno what also. All I know they had a microphone connected to this huge speaker beside the road and when I passed through that stupid stupid speaker and one of the lady went high pitch I got blasted away... It was so awful! Damn I nearly went death no thanks to her! They should have put a big warning sign there! WARNING: HIGH PITCHED LADY SINGING, MIGHT CAUSE HEARING DEFICIENCY! I made sure on the way back I avoid that part.

I nearly went deaf because of them!

A bonsai plant...this plant is the winner!

But I love one thing I saw while I was at the Festival. There was this group of old folks dancing. It was really great. Especially the old man, I mean like wow can he shake! They actually danced far better than the Hope Church's 15th Anniversary dance performance by the college group. No offence to you guys but they were really good. I would grade them 8.5/10. As a proof, I videoed down the dance.

Gotta love the dance... and look at the old man Sway!!

Push too Hard

You wanted so much from me
But when is it than you can see
And how could I make you understand
That I need some space to breathe
I am a human, I've my own stand
Sometimes the words you say brings seethe

I really wanted to respect you
But I am starting to find it hard to do
The harder I try, the more I can't
Its a space of freedom that I need,
I wish you will grant
In life we should learned to be satisfied
So let us try not to fight

If you pushed too hard
I am afraid sooner or later I might break apart
If you pushed too hard
Hearts are bound to be broken and scarred
If you pushed too hard
One day this family is bound to break apart

You wanted to control everything
Controlling people gives you satisfaction
And now this family's love and warmth is dying
Could we all end up in separation?

I hope that would not be the end
This family's relationship I shall fend
Cause no matter we are connected
nothing could let this connection be separated

If you pushed too hard
I am afraid sooner or later I might break apart
If you pushed too hard
Hearts are bound to be broken and scarred
If you pushed too hard
One day this family is bound to break apart

I know sometimes I am rude
But I promise you that I'll mend my ways
Let not little problems spoil our mood
Lets open up ourselves for better days

A New Challenge

Challenges in life is it something good or is it something bad? Personally I never really liked challenges. I find them tiring and a total waste of my energy. But these days my perspective has changed. I started to feel that challenge is a good thing. A challenge in life brings out the best in me. It drills me to become a better and wiser person. That was why I decided to take up a new challenge in my life.

This might not be much of a challenge to some of you out there, but for me it is quite a challenge. Recently...well about 2 days ago my tuition centre called me up and offered me a new job as a part-time tutor. I was offered to teach MUET (Malaysian University English Test), not to students but to working adults. Yes working adults who are older than me. The challenge here is to get them obtain good grades in MUET and my task was to teach them and let them understand the format of MUET and how it works and what are the tricks to tackle the questions. At the same time my knowledge for MUET is like zero. I actually had to borrow the book from Swinburne library and read and understand how MUET works and how it was being tested on the candidates.

Initially I had no idea why did I took up the offer. My boss asked me whether can I teach the class or not and my mouth just blurted out yes. At first I was really nervous about it but I told myself that I must have faith in myself and also in the Lord. Amazingly, our faith to the Lord can have so much impact in our lives. Things started to look better. I came to know that Shawn has taken MUET before and also Cheryl. I started asking them questions about MUET. Well I Shawn became my victim of interrogation. I started asking questions on how MUET was being taught in tuition class what are being tested and Praise the Lord that whatever was written in the book about the format was not entirely correct. Seems that in the speaking paper the Individual presentation part was not being tested. Only the group discussion part was tested. I started to learn a lot of things about MUET.

I started to prepare the notes for class and I ended up sleeping at 3am and nearly overslept and missed my morning tuition for my form1 and 2 students but luckily I was not late I still manage to rush there on time. After the morning class the next class was the MUET class... I will not deny that I felt very nervous to tell the truth I was shivering a bit but I kept my cools and started to give the lecture on how the marks are being calculated etc. Then started off with lesson 1 which was listening. So far everything went on smoothly and class ended on time and I managed to finish the lesson I planned for today. My student are nice and friendly and the class was enjoyable. They are willing to learned and I am very pleased and happy that they let me have a chance to teach them. It was really an honour. I am looking forward to our next class now which will be after the Raya holidays.

So for those of you who are afraid of challenges in life, do not be afraid to face them. Have faith in yourself and have faith in the Lord and everything will work out fine. Even if we fail do not fear as Failure is the mother of success. We learn as we grow.

To Cheryl thank your for your help. It was helpful of you.

To Shawn I can't thank you enough for your help. You have been such a big help to me by giving me so much information about MUET. Because of you I have learned so much about MUET and was able to hinder from making a fool of myself. I am very happy and proud to have such a shepherd like you. So to show my gratitude, you are entitled to one piece of Secret Recipe's cake, your pick. See how nice of me. LOL
