Home Cooking - Sour vege

.......................................................................................................................................................................
Short Talk:

Wishing all those who are celebrating Hari Raya, A Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir Batin. It is also a time for me to enjoy masak merah, curry, beef rendang, pulut *droolz*. I can't wait to get my hands on them all! Not forgetting to see my Malay friends. I haven't seen them for a long time!

Sometimes it is good to do some home cooking. It is much healthier and cheaper to do so too. Actually I always thought that home cooking is fun and in a way educational. When your dish comes out right and its good, it gives you satisfaction.

I am going to introduce a simply dish which I liked a lot. Preparation is not hard. It is called errr.... Stir fried Sour Veg.

Basically these will be the things that you will need;
  • Sour vege (2-3 stalks)
  • Ginger (shredded)
  • Chillies (Chopped)
  • Pork
  • 2 table spoon of cooking oil
  • wok or frying pan
First of all, shred the sour veg into thin strips around 0.5cm. Next, cut the pork into pieces as shown in the picture.

After that, take a small piece of ginger and then shred it into thin slices, followed by the chillies. Basically you have a choice to add in the chillies or not to. For me the reason why I add in the chillies and ginger because the ginger adds in the flavour and as for the chillies it gives a little spice and thus, the dish will have a sourish and spicy taste to it and it really perks up your appetite.

Next, when all of your ingredients are done, boil a pot of water and then put in the pork for 5 minutes then heat up the cooking oil in a pan, put in the ginger first, fry until fragrant and add in chilli, stir. Add in the shredded sour veg into and stir fry again for a few minutes, while the veg is being cooked drain the pork and then add it into the sour veg and stir fry for another few minutes.

i grew up loving those vegetables and the more sour they are, the better they taste.

but too bad, cant salivate because of the chemical reaction of "poison" inside my stomach. grrr...

btw, isnt that what people call "zhao cai?"

emointhecorner: Oh I am gonna so friggin make you wake up early and to to the market. LOL.

To make you wake up early, no problem hehe.

Angel: Yes yes, and then when you add chillies and ginger in it gives it a better flavour. Sort off spicy sourish taste. Very appetizing.

How come? Gastric problem?
